Ofsted Registered Childminders

Ofsted Registered Childminders care for children from birth upwards allowing brothers and sisters to be looked after together which makes life easier for the whole family.

Registered Childminders care for children in a home from home environment caring for a small amount of children allowing their individual needs to be met.

All Registered Childminders are regularly inspected by Ofsted, have either a Police, CRB or DBS check, hold valid Public Liability Insurance and have a current certificate in Paediatric First Aid Certificate which is renewed every 3 years.

Lots of Childminders continue with their professional development by attending training courses and keeping their knowledge of current legislation up to date.

Most of our Childminders are parents themselves and they have the experience and understanding of the everyday challenges that children can bring.

Some Childminders look after children early in the morning, late in the evening, school holidays, overnight and at weekends. This means children who’s parents don’t work from 9 to 5 can enjoy consistent care with the same carer.

Most childminders are willing to take children to and from school, pre-school, nurseries, toddler groups and to collect them from after school curricular activities.  Some childminders are able to offer funded places for 2,3 and 4 year olds for 15/30 hours just as a pre-school or nursery can.

All the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage learning and development are covered by children being looked after by a Registered Childminder and they can enjoy real life experiences like cooking, shopping, gardening, mealtimes and outings to the park, library etc.

As Childminders can be flexible during the day this means we can be spontaneous and can build on the children’s individual interests. An unexpected sunny or snowy day is a great opportunity for outdoor play and learning, and if the children are feeling tired they can curl up and take it easy, just like they would at home.

Children often stay with the same childminder from being a baby to starting high school, so they benefit from continuity and stability and because all children learn from being around children of different ages and from different families who are looked after by the same person they often form friendships that last into adulthood.

***** It is important that you make your own verification checks when choosing a Childminder. Ofsted can be contacted on 0300 123 1231 for you to confirm your chosen Childminder is Ofsted registered. The Aireborough Childminding Group are not responsible for checking the registration of a Childminder who may be a member of the group. *******
